Week Starting 6/05/24

This week I finished my research by looking more into mixed media album covers and working on a full mockup album cover design for my experimentation. I chose to research Slanted and Enchanted by Pavement and DC4 by Meek Mill. For the album cover, I used adobe photoshop and especially the displace effect to manipulate the text. For the back cover, I used pixel sorting to create a distortion in the background to try and add more colour to the picture. I then used Adobe Illustrator to place all of these designs over a CD cover template, creating a flat mockup that included a front, side and back cover. This will help me with my final product as I now know how to present an album cover and how to include things like tracklists into the design.
